review 1: Aurora, the Sleeping Beauty, has been awoken. The legends say true love's kiss would wake her, but does that mean she has to marry the man whose kiss awakens her? Her parents are long dead, everything familiar is gone, and now that Aurora is awake she is being manipulated and controlled by the present monarchy. This is a wonderfully intriguing premise that I had never thought of but am fascinated by: how would Sleeping Beauty feel after being woken up? Unfortunately this story starts wonderfully but then the author goes a direction that I find frustrating (can't say what, for spoilers' sake). Oh, how I wish I could have had input in the conclusion of this otherwise great tale.

Aurora wakes up from her long sleep, but instead of a happily ever ending, home is not how she remembered it, and the handsome prince who woke her up? Well, she's not feeling it for him. The kingdom is in ruins, and her future inlaws have something up their sleeves. Oh yes, and she can do MAGIC. Thomas' writing is beautiful; her dialogue is full of repartee that will have you giggling, and she has painted a gorgeous world that I want to live in. I can't wait for the sequel! less
