review 1: I don't know. This is my second Rhys Ford book. I read Tequila Mockingbird and was intrigued by Miki. I didn't love either books. Technically both are based on solid ideas and should have wowed me. I'm very disappointed because I broke out my US dollar credit card for this and exchange rates are shit. I can't say exactly what didn't work for me. I fell asleep right in the middle of a sex scene! Got drool all over my tablet.Miki was too easily swayed to the dark side of loving relationships. What about your trust issues?! I tried to remind him.Kane was just so fucking perfect he hurt muh brain.The Morgans scare me.They got together too quickly, I need a slow burn.I would have one starred this if not for that fucking ending which has me breaking out the gotdamn credit card a... moregain and preparing a blood sacrifice. Fucking exchange rates. KMFT.
review 2: I'm not sure why I drug my feet about reading this. I like the Cole McGinnis series but for some reason this was one I was hesitant to pick up. Turns out I ended up liking this series as well. I LOVE Kane and his big Irish family. Miki for being a rock star is a pretty broken character and it isn't just Kane but his entire family that helps to shelter Miki even if he is a spitfire. For me a great deal of the charm of the series comes from the Morgan clan and their love and devotion to each other and the people that come into their family. I did see a lot of similarities between the MC for the Cole McGinnis series and this one but I still really enjoyed the start of this series. less
