review 1: Marked this as read, but the truth is I couldn't finish it. Simply put, it started to get to the point that on almost every line I mentally pulled a blue pencil and crossed out repetitive, wordy parts. It read like a lower-level student's paper; he really needed a tough editor. His anectdotes often over-reached. A good premise and potential, but he failed to carry it off. I am, frankly, amazed that so many gave it high marks.
review 2: And in this book was a detailed account of every single person who was on the Titanic, especially the 1st and 2nd class passengers. 3rd class gets a little fuzzy and in those classes, I found the minorities the most interesting. Once again, I thought I was interested in the Titanic, but this book is insane! There is so much detai
... morel, you can't keep anything straight for more then a page. I also found when they were docking in New York really interesting. It's the small things that were interesting in this book, not the big picture. I am over the big picture and all the small details that I found, I liked, but I have of course since forgotten them. Eh. less
