review 1: I really enjoyed this book. It was a pot luck selection off the library shelves when I had a mind blank in the local library and no titles or authors would come to mind. Its a great story and gives a real insight into the life of a girl who's bullied and ostracised at school (and in the wider community) because of her brother who is autistic. This is backdropped by the impact a new dam construction will have on the small town who are all forced to relocate as a result. I think it would be three and a half stars.
review 2: Really enjoyed this book! Told from the perspective of a teenager growing up in the 1960's, it reflects on the impact that a town which is deliberately flooded by the government (to build a dam) has on a community. The characters were compel

Excellent story telling a fascinating tale of an event that actually occurred. Very well written.

It's published as an adult book but it is also very good for High school Can LIt students.

I loved this one. Very different but well written. Gripping story of loss and then gain.
