review 1: I love R.L. Mathewson books, but I just wish she would do something a little more original. She seems to write each book with a template. I loved the Neighbour from Hell books and I was excited to read something new and different from a great author. It was a great book, but it was essentially a Neighbour from Hell book without the characters being neighbours. I will say that I adore the fact that she writes strong female characters that, although they may have experienced hardship in life, aren't broken, depressed and in need of a man to save them. That's one mould she has broken and I'm thankful for it. This was a fun, quick and light-hearted read that I would recommend to people who want to read a NA book that has them in a good mood throughout.
review 2: I ... moreconsidered giving the book three stars for the marriage proposal, I loved that one. But that was about all. I kept reading because it didn't require thinking and I like books of that sort. But this was way too predictable, way too sweet, the humor didn't work so well, it seemed simple, way too obvious. So when compared to other titles of this genre, this book doesn't really stand a chance. I feel sorry to say that because none of the books off of the funny as hell list ever disappointed me. Well, there's always a first for everything. less
