review 1: I would give this book two and a half stars. I think that if I had started with this book, I never would have read anything else from this author.The story was a little bit all over the place with dramatic situation after dramatic situation.And the editing errors were so plentiful that I can't believe there was any editing involved at all.I can say that I found it interesting enough to at least finish. And because I read several other books by this author before this, I know that her books get considerably better.
review 2: Oh dear, if I had not already read - and very much liked - the Neighbours From Hell books I would likely not have read them after this book.A Humble Heart made me laugh because of its sheer ridiculousness. It's like the author compiled a li... morest of every angst ridden situation in romance novels and included them in this book. We have an overweight heroine who loses masses of weight, the horrid ex husband, an even more horrid new wife for the ex, car accidents, house intruders, attackers etc. And as soon as one drama is introduced it's just about over once you turn the page!And added to all this kids who were angelic and a heroine who is not only a best selling author but becomes an in-demand, talented actress who has no issues stripping her clothes off in between being the best Mother and friend ever.As for Edward, apart from a glimpse at the start of what could be an interesting character, he is reduced to a two-dimensional figure who is either in orgasmic heaven or upset that he is failing in protecting his family. A pity but we never really get to know him. less
