review 1: Things I liked:1.) I loved reading Chelsea and Brandon's story. They were just so cute and sweet! 2.) I loved the names of Brooke's recipes. They were so cute and quirky. I also can't wait to actually try them out! 3.) I loved the setting. The author did a really great job at painting a picture of the scenery. I'm so jealous, though, because I want a cute little cabin on the lake. 4.) This book was a page turner for me. Even though I wasn't a fan of Brooke's, I wanted to know what happened. What I didn't like: I was not a fan of Brooke's story. I'm sorry to judge, but so many people just don't take marriage seriously anymore. When she started having feelings for Greg, she should have just left him alone. Instead, she went to see him about everyday. My heart broke so much f... moreor Bill. I mean, he is training to fight in a war to protect her cheating butt. I have no tolerance for people who cannot stay faithful to their military spouses. I wanted to like Brooke, because she seemed so nice and kind. But, what kind of person sleeps with someone else the night she finds out her husband died!
review 2: I read this book for my book club and if you are looking for a synopsis you can find that from the other reviews of people who enjoyed it... That however is not what you are going to find here because I did not like this book one bit. I think I rolled my eyes more at this book then any other I have read and that is saying a lot. It was predictable. It was lame. And it was beyond corny. I have concluded that the man was forced to watch a lifetime movie and thought to himself, "I could write that!" and this is what we were stuck with. I felt like there were moments where he wrote what he thought women would want to read rather then doing a little research into it. It's shallow and as one of the women pointed out tonight at book club, "infantile" as well as just plain bad. I would not suggest this and am really surprised at the rating it has. Seriously, don't waste your time. less
