review 1: I'm a huge Abney Park fan and have wanted to read this for some time now, thinking it would add to the band's background. And it did. However, it definitely had its faults. For starters, the dialogue was weak and the character development a bit flat, especially during the first part of the story (Book I). The second part was much improved and the plot picked up and got me engaged. Unfortunately, the kindle edition of the book had lots of typos and mistakes which was disappointing. Overall, it was an ok first book for Captain Robert which shows potential.

... moreas very appealing.The idea of the book is very nice, I liked how it started. I did not manage to end it, however. After about 1/3 of the book, the number of errors in writing and in some of the historical facts were bad enough to make me stop. The manuscript could do with a spell-checker and a person who would do at least some basic editing. Alas. less
