review 1: Former NY Prosecutor and author of the Butch Karp crime novel series, Robert K. Tanenbaum, turns his eye toward an infamous New York case. A young man is convicted of the "Career Girl" murders, but that rarity, a heroic assistant DA, discovers discrepancies. The low IQ defendant had "confessed", he had a photo (allegedly) of one of the victims, yet something is wrong. The police refuse to admit any wrongdoing. How it ends changes careers and determines whether an innocent man serves life in prison. For those interested in the legal system, this is a good read. For those who believe that the innocent can be convicted, it is satisfying confirmation of what you thought police always did.
review 2: I have long been a fan of this author & have read all of his
... morebook in the Butch Karp Series. I love that series & how he makes the Karp family so much a part of the story line. But back to Echoes of My Soul. This book not only entertained but also educated, I found it so interesting to learn what lead to the Miranda as we know it today. It also left me with hope for our system. This book reminded me that there are Honest & Dedicated people in our flawed Legal System. Thank your Mr. Tanenbaum less

3.5 stars. Similar to John Grisham's true story novel but I didn't find this story as well written.

This true story is as riveting as any mystery/ courtroom novel that I have ever read.
