review 1: This book was not as good as I expected it to be. Don't read it if you actually want to learn anything about the practice of yoga. It is a somewhat interesting story of boom and bust. After great success during the 20's, Bernard's situation gradually declined, and he gradually sold off assests and his properties fell into disprepair. He was nearly destitute when he died in the 1950's. But the depression and World War II probably had as much to do with that as anything.

Interesting to think that yoga was one considered risque! However, the story was not that riveting.
