review 1: Dark, gruesome and exciting. It's Robin Jarvis through and through but more mature and far nastier than any of his other stuff. Definitely not for the younger teenager/child! I think its only downside is it was too exciting and took a bit too long to give you the answers you need to know. You care about the characters, you want to know what is going to happen to them but the narrative was in places too drawn out for my tastes. I was guilty of flicking through it to see what will happen. I hate doing that but this book sets your nerves on edge. Was surprised how much you end up caring about the kids in this book. Straight on to the next one...
review 2: Dancing Jax: Freax and Rejex - Robin JarvisThe second instalment in the Dancing Jax series, the first book is
... morereviewed here also by me.A step back from the characters of Dancing Jax is took here, with them being mentioned briefly rather than being the focus. However a brand new group of characters is introduced, the teenagers who are unaffected by the book, the Freax and Rejex.Victimised by everyone in their lives for their inability to be absorbed into the book they are took to a camp, isolated from all contacts, with some other worldly guards to watch them and help them find their role in the world of Dancing Jax.However this proves harder then the Ismus, the ruler of both the world inside Dancing Jax and reality due to the shift the book causes, suspects meaning they are retained longer than expected and the plush living they’ve been experiencing quickly vanishes around them.Never before in a book though have I seen such a diverse amount of characters meld so well. This book is so much about change within the individuals as well, I have never had to change my mind about my opinions of characters as quickly and as often as I have with this book.Don’t let this deter you though, this development within each of them is written smoothly and really seems the focus of the book, indicating that they will be of importance to the rest of the books. Also don’t think that this book is all talking, there is plenty of talking to occur but plenty of thrilling fights and several unforeseen twists to the plot.A book I feel is well fitting with it’s predecessor, an exciting plot mingled with beautiful character development written in a stylish manner, Freax and Rejex is a good 9/10 less

A lot darker than the first book, but fantastic nonetheless.
