review 1: This went downhill fast. 2 bit second rate Perks/Catcher in the Rye, takes the easy way out with Ezra-as-a-grownup narrating (all to avoid actual character development), predictable as all get out, a teen book that is definitely for teens. This is the book equivalent of a good-bad movie that you wait 4 years after release before catching on netflix when you stay home sick. The beginning was really clever though.
review 2: I thought this was an amazing book filled with the perfect amount of foreshadowing and unexpected events. One of the other reviewers said that most YA books end in a happily-ever-after fashion. I have NEVER read a YA novel like that, and that goes against the whole point of YA novels. They are gritty, real and emotional. Just as this book... more is. It was a great book written from the Male perspective. less
