review 1: Let's be honest about a couple things: I don't remember why I picked up this book but I must have read something that prompted me to do so, and within a few pages, the narrative was way too familiar - so I skipped to the final chapter and just read that. If I hadn't already read "Too Big to Fail", this might have been more interesting. However....I don't think I need to read all about this again, plus it was published in 2010 and I'd rather read something hot off the presses about this topic right now.
review 2: Veeeeeery detailed book about the two or three years preceding and including the financial crash. Lowenstein either really knows what he's talking about or is very convinced that he does. Either way this is good reading. He broke the crisis down for t... morehe average Joe and tried to humanize it. I almost give this four stars but in the end I was skeptical he really knew everyone's motivations white as well as he purports. less
