review 1: i downloaded this book last night for nook and i loved it ... i really loved that it was in new orleans, i felt like i was there and i loved all the french quarter settings ... the only thing i didnt like about it was cort ... i thought it would be more of a battle between cort and gabe, and it was, in a different way, but cort was such an a**. this book was different than a lot of the other books ive read b/c the setting really played a big part .. now i want to go to new orleans, lol. 4.5 stars
review 2: I adored this book it’s one that you don’t want to put down and you find yourself rooting for the good guy Gabe and shouting at Cat as you just want her to see that Gabe is the one she should be with.I’m impressed with the Authors writing style the char... moreacters are written well you know instantly who you like and who you don’t.So you have read the Blurb and yes it gives you what you need what it doesn’t give you is the Love Gabe has for Cat he never loses that by leaving. He thinks he was doing the best for Cat when he left as the one person who he hates more than anything Cort goes all out to make sure he has nowhere to turn. So with Gabe gone and Cort being there Cat agrees to marry Cort, now he turns out to be a nasty piece of work but hides behind his money and does some pretty rotten things. He is like that kid who thinks because he has money he can have whatever he wants and if he doesn’t get it he sulks. He will also lie, cheat, use people and even try and kill to get what he wants.Cat is the sort of person who sees the good in everyone well tries to and I guess that’s why she ends up married to Cort but her first love Gabe is always with her so when he comes back everyone can see they belong together. You can tell she still loves him but she stays because of her father and well her marriage vows. I loved her relationship with Anne even if Anne knew Cat was making the biggest mistake of her life she is always there for Cat. I loved the way Anne was with Delilah I had some laugh out moments with them two.I loved the ending as I love HEA. One question I am left with is Where did Gabe get his money from? I don't think he explained to well where he got it from so hopefully that will be explained at some point.This was a great fun romantic read and there is so much more to their story and I know there are two more books to this series so I’m looking forward to what comes next. less
