review 1: JET - Ops Files by Russell Blake is another fine read from Blake. I have read several of his books and I haven't been disappointed. This one starts with Maya Weiss, an Israeli soldier who's boss has it in for her. One morning after pulling a night shift guard duty, an ambulance pulls up and her friend questions them and is shot by the terrorist smuggling into the Hamas controlled quarters. After her friend dies, Maya vows revenge. She dresses as a Muslim and sneaked in until she discovers the terrorist plan. She gets caught and calls for backup. Her boss charges her with dereliction of duty, treason and being out of uniform. A lawyer brings in a Mossad agent. They train her to be an agent. On her first assignment, she completes the mission and saves her immediate superviso... morer. Her next assignment is much more difficult. She must pose has a high end escort. Can Maya survive this mission? Well just read on and speculate no more.
review 2: What an action-packed prequel. I've read all the Jet books and was psyched to learn about Jet's past. This book fleshes out more of how she became the person she is and her time in training to become an agent. And holy cow is the training is intense. Both physically and mentally. Of course she has an idiot superior officer who makes her life miserable and I wanted to get inside the book and choke him. I guess because he reminded me of an old boss I had.I loved the fight scenes. I found myself smiling whenever a good one was coming. I can always count on Jet to kick butt, especially to the people who have it coming. Highly recommend this book! less
