review 1: This book is great! It got me to try TM again and I am glad I did. The amount of peace I feel when I am doing it is hard to put into words. When the 20 minutes is up I am actually bummed out and wish I could do it for 20 more minutes. I have also noticed the interactions with my step-boys are a lot more interesting since I started doing this type of meditation. I came home last night and my 9 year old and 4 year old did 40 minutes of advanced yoga with me voluntarily. I have never seen my 9 year old show any interest in yoga at all before this. It was incredible to see him focus that well and that long. I was blown away! Read this book! Russell Simmons is a great role model! I hope I become successful enough to be able to make him a gourmet vegan dinner some day... more! I make a killer Jack Lalanne casserole (with one pound organic broccoli!). Thank you Russell Simmons for following your passion and sharing it with others.
review 2: Firstly I have always thought of all things Eastern and Asian as mumbo jumbo since kung-fu movies are not real. However this book was a bit of an eye opener since it was written by someone who is not Asian and not from the East.I had no idea that there ever was such a thing as a Christian yogi before Russell mentioned Paramahansa Yogananda (yo Russell you did not mention that he was Chritian when you quoted him in Super Rich). So that fact kinda allowed my guard to come down a bit.The kicker here is that I tried sitting still for 20 minutes and do nothing, just concentrating on my breath. This stuff works. Nuff said. less
