review 1: I received book 1 in this series in a giveaway and I couldn't be happier. The book is an awesome read, from start to finish, keeping the reader hooked and engaged. It is very descriptive, painting a good picture of what's going on, and I especially enjoyed the little bits of humor throughout the book. Not only did I enjoy it, but my daughter commandeered it from me and had totally been eating it up. We cannot WAIT to find out what happens next!!!!
review 2: This is perhaps one of the most challenging reviews that I have ever written. I am at a loss for words when contemplating what I should write. There are so many areas of this book that are strong, but there are also large spots that are incredibly confusing. There is a combination of alien and fairy worlds t
... morehat collide with humanity, that almost makes sense. The structure of the book itself is very off putting for me and made it nearly impossible for me to read. I found the introduction to be very interesting, but it did not match up to the rest of the book. The names of the characters were actually off putting, since I was not even sure how to pronounce them. I was unsure if this was a grammatical error or if this was done for a futuristic theme. I believe this book is geared toward the wrong age group and would be better if it were rewritten toward an older audience. This subject was much more mature for children to understand. There seemed to be a great deal of spiritual and transcendence topics discussed, which is fine, but not something a child might understand. I think the author has a lot to offer, but needs to re-work his theme a great deal. I don’t see this book being successful unless some significant changes take place. It pains me to write that, but I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. I would like to see this author succeed by taking a second look at what he has written. He has a great imagination, but it is very chaotic and too complicated for a child to understand. The structure is choppy and kids will not pay attention to a book that is written in this format. less
