review 1: Otter loves living with his keeper. They play together every weekend and have the best time. Unfortunately, Keeper has to go to work each week, leaving the mischievous Otter to his own devices. Bored, Otter starts his own toast restaurant for all of his stuffed animals, but it doesn't go at all like he'd planned. The results are disastrous -- and hilarious. This is a cute, original story, and the ending made me laugh out loud the first time I read it. It's the illustrations that really make the book, though. Not only are they adorable, but they are so full of rich detail that I notice new elements every time I read.
review 2: I hadn't known that this book started out on the internet. Otter introduces herself and starts the story when she goes to live with Otter
... more-keeper and teddy. Kids will readily get the joke that both Otter and teddy are of course, stuffed toys but Otter doesn't seem to realize that she is also a stuffed toy. Otter gets into lots of trouble having decided to open a business but without a solid business plan to carry out the idea. All the visiting stuffed toys are annoyed with him and she realizes Otter-keeper is going to be annoyed as well. She tries to hide both the mess and herself but of course both are discovered immediately...Otter tries to hide in a boot but her bottom half sticks out. Otter and Otter-keeper realize Teddy is missing and it takes forever to find him. In the meantime, Otter realizes that none of this could be HER fault, it must all be somebody else's fault! Kids will get the jokes in here and will hopefully be able to relate Otter's lack of accepting responsibility to their own lives. The message is not at all heavy handed and is handled as an ending with a twist to it. I have to join in with the majority in hoping there will be more Otter and Teddy adventures! less

Very cute! Probably good for preschool storytimes, a bit sophisticated and long for toddlers.
