review 1: If it wasn't for the last 100 pages of this book, I would have given it a 1 star. The book was much longer than it needed to be, covering the same information over and over. Each time I thought of quitting, there would be just enough of a hint to the mystery that I would keep reading. Finally the last 100 pages started to wrap together all of the information to finally show the final mystery. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
review 2: Bruce-Benjamin writes like F. Scott Fitzgerald. Yet, hers is a more a lyrical approach, almost like poetry, that proves arresting and, ultimately, unforgettable. There is so much to admire in this debut; the setting, the details, the deft plotting, but it is the narrative voices that prove unforgettable.
