review 1: This is such a lovely book. All of the portraits are watercolor, so if you are not a fan of that medium this is not the collection for you - I like it, so it was right up my alley! The accompanying quotations are wonderful and well-chosen. I adore this book on my coffee table, and I often find myself thumbing through it for inspiration or just to infuse a little pretty into my life. I think my personal favorite is the portrait of Nancy from Oliver Twist, with the quote "Love will carry you all lengths." Love it!
review 2: This coffee table book features stunning watercolors of literary heroines. My favorites are Alice, Hester Prynne, Nancy Drew, Ophelia, Cosette, Juliet and Antigone. I would love for Chronicle Books to release a wall calendar and note cards by ... morethis artist. Also, a portion of this book's proceeds are donated to Room to Read, a charity that supports literacy and gender equality. A beautiful book & meaningful cause! less
