review 1: This book is not well written. "Facts" are thrown in and then no further information is found to support it. It has a weird way of being both annoyingly repetitive and off topic at the same time. It gets two stars because I did enjoy it enough to finish it but it desperately needs to be edited. In fact, I'm really not sure how this woman managed to be paid for her writing. The topic was enough for me to stick through but had it not been, this book would have been unreadable.
review 2: I wanted to read this book because I also have life-threatening food allergies, and I wanted to see if the author had any insights or coping strategies that might help me. I was disappointed in the book, though. It was mainly disjointed accounts of various incidents in her life
... morewhere her allergies almost killed her, which were really very similar in the particulars. They just happened in different places. She also talks about research and doctor's attitudes toward allergies, and other people's experiences of trying to keep their children safe. All in all, I didn't see a real point to the book, it was mostly the author "sharing", without any real purpose. I don't want to say it was a complete waste of time, but it very nearly was. less
