review 1: I abandoned this one after about 100 pages. That's pretty unusual; normally if I get past page 30 or so, I like something about the work enough to read the entire thing. But here, the narrative was too annoying. The author was replicating the chaos and emotional turmoil through the craft on the page. After a time, it was simply wearing. It kept me too distanced from the characters, oddly enough, because it was meant to take me deeper into that world.
review 2: Prêté par mon ami Daniel et recommandé à lui par son libraire personnel (pas par Amazon ni par Costco, ils en seraient bien incapables malgré leurs prix imbattables -- ne l'oublions jamais), un monologue de 500 pages qui filent comme de l'eau, où s'entrelacent sauvetages, deuils, la fusion de deux m... moreultinationales, la Sainte Trinité, un père qui fait tout pour protéger sa fille, Radiohead, le cinéma, l'école, la vie, quoi. Le style évoque Joyce (en bien moins cryptique cependant), mais aussi Perec et sa tentative d'épuisement d'un lieu parisien (ici milanais). Sceptique au début, je me suis peu à peu laissé prendre au jeu. Fort bien traduit au demeurant. less
