review 1: Maddie Sawyer is a best selling romance author living in New York who writes under the name Kathry West. While the persona of Kathryn is flashy and confident, in real life Maddie's kind of a mess. With her fifteen year class reunion back in small town Indiana looming, she goes in search of the perfect alpha male to hire as her "date." The problem is, after she finds Mr. Perfect--Scott Brady, a hunky, leather-clad biker--their business relationship goes out the window when they fall for each other. The situation gets even more complicated at the reunion when Maddie is confronted by not one, but two, ghosts from her past. Using a deft touch, author Sandy James addresses (SPOILER ALERT!) the issues of rape, teen pregnancy and the criminal justice system with respect in weavin... moreg a tale of forgiveness and second chances. The ride she takes you on has a few major twists and turns, and will leave you satisfied and smiling at the end.
review 2: I have known this author for a very long time but this is the first of her books I have read. I absolutely loved it! :0) Maddie was a fun character and very relatable. And Scott was a pretty awesome alpha with a teddy bear core... my favorite kind! At the beginning I thought it was a little predictable but the reunion threw me for a loop. Didn't see that one coming and thought it was really going to throw off the storey line. But she pulled off flawlessly and I don't think I would have liked the book without it now :0) Fantastic! And I loved how she put little things from Indiana in like The Blind pig and wishing well motel and every event being held at the moose lodge :0) Pulled me in and made me feel that much more inside the story! I will definitely be reading more! less
