[Bookish Lifestyle] Book Cover Models

As a frequent reader and fangirl, there is nothing that excites me more than seeing a real life person on the cover of book. Real people on the book means a book character I can actually go and meet even though they may be nothing like the character they portray on the cover.

My favourite book cover model? Pepe Toth, the cute Hungarian who is Daemon Black on the Lux novels by Jennifer L. Armentrout. (My favourite cover is Oblivion.)  After learning and then freaking out about Toth’s life story with his ex-fiancée Sztella Tziotziosz (long story). I sought out the rest of the books on which they are cover models for. The long list includes Simone Elkeles’s How to Ruin series and Caught Up in Us by Lauren Blakely.

Why am I telling you this? Because I too want to be a cover model. So i looked into the lovely job of being on book covers and boy is there a long list of things you have to do. Not only do authors have almost no say in how their covers turn out so you can’t even bother talking to them but publishing companies are also said to be really slow to respond to inquiries regarding cover models.

If there is a cover model reading this that would like to enlighten me on the experience that would be amazing. What are your thoughts on cover models? Comment down below.
