review 1: So fun! I loved it! Do not keep reading because I am copying and pasting a HILARIOUS review one of my friends--who shall remain nameless--wrote and sent to me. At the risk of sounding British (hey, I did just read a modern take on a British story), it is spot on!"Okay, first of all- the love scenes. Ridiculous. Seriously. It was like the author had just read a bunch of romance novels and threw together what she thought was sexy. They were a little ridiculous and went on too long. And O.M.G.- if a man ever stuck his finger into me and then sucked it, I would be horrified. And there is NO WAY POSSIBLE I would ever then suck it myself. I seriously gagged out loud whenever something like that was done. Disgusting. And she smelled like pears? PEARS. Seriously? Who has a natu... moreral scent of pears? And then when he went down on her, it was TANGY PEARS? LMMFAO. Too. Too. Much. And the epilogue was too over the top and unnecessary. We get it. They have the perfect marriage, apparently the perfect 6 week old daughter that is happy to go straight from bed, to eating, then to crib (without being burped) and straight back to bed, and they both now have the perfect careers. Oh, and they're billionaires. Got it. Too much. That being said, I loved this book. Why? Because I can totally see that being Darcy and Elizabeth in modern life. It's the first sequel ever that actually seemed to fit their personalities- especially Elizabeth's. I loved the actual STORY. I also liked that Wickham was left out, although I would have loved the sisters to be included more. Especially Lydia- wouldn't it be cool to see what she would have become in the modern day? However, I really felt like she could have done more (and thought she would) with DeBourgh. I thought she would find out about the relationship and make trouble for them out of spite, or something. But nothing came of it. Oh well."
review 2: No no no. Just no. Sorry I know this is a modern version with sex but jeez Darcy isn't just into Lizzie for sex! Sure thats a bonus but whew no. Do my a favor look up the LIZZIE BENNETT DARIES on youtube! That is a modern adaptation. Please watch that instead of reading this. The writing was so jumpy, I read it as an ebook so I hope its better in print. Lizzie/Darcy flip flopping perspectives was hard to follow. None of the supporting characters were interesting or fleshed out and added nothing to the story. Bad plotting and pace. less

One of my favorite JA fan fictions--this is a great modernization. Light, easy read.

It was an interesting modern take on the classic Jane Austen novel.
