review 1: I love this series! Clementine is lovable, precocious and age-perfect for my almost-seven-year old. The situations Clementine finds herself in are realistic and hilarious, and my daughter totally understands where she's coming from, the classroom politics, and the ramifications of the various characters' actions. I especially love Clementine's interaction with her principal Mrs. Rice. How wonderful to have someone in her life who gets this thoughtful little girl! Here's to loud lunches!
review 2: This book is getting some Newbery attention this year. It is a enjoyable book and Clementine is a wonderfully memorable character. I would have loved this series when I was in 2-4 grade. I don't know if it is Newbery material or not, but it's a really well written a... morend thoroughly delightful read. It would be a fun one to read aloud because it is as much fun for the adult as it is for the child listening. less
