review 1: I didn't get very far. I'm trying to figure out how to explain the problem and the best I can come up with is over-narrated. It's all telling and no showing -- at least for the part I read. There wasn't much dialogue and what there was wasn't interesting or clever or necessary. You don't learn anything by watching or listening to the characters. The author tells you everything. Even for a cozy murder mystery set in an inn, it was awfully dull.
review 2: If I could use two words to describe this book it would be: verbose and amateurish. The characters were wooden and one-dimensional. The plot predictable and rather silly. The love story- trite. In all, it definitely seemed like a first-time writer publishing her very first novel. There could be potent
... moreial with refinement and more work on crafting her characters. Since it's kind of difficult to actually find anything out about the author, I can't tell if this was actually her first novel or not. less

The story was cute but it was written by an amateur. A lot of telling and not so much showing.
