review 1: Fun space adventure book about a young woman who is heir to one of the rulers of Earth who escapes what she thinks is a mutiny on her father's ship only to end up on a darkship crewed by a genetically altered descendant of the bio-lords who once ruled Earth and now steal energy from the space powertrees. Halfway through the book turns into a romance but there is still lots of action and the revelation of who Athena really is and her father's true plans for her. I basically read the 500 page book in one day. Ignore the awful cover.
review 2: I really liked Darkship Thieves. When I started reading it I struggled because I didn't really care for the main character, Athena, but the more I read and found out about her the more I liked her. The setting is in the fu
... moreture and while I found some of the technology that is presented to be a bit confusing in its description but that really didn't detract from the story. In the end I found that I had flown through the book at an alarming pace due to the desire to find out what happens next and, while some of the plot is a bit predictable, I had fun reading this delightful novel. less

I really enjoyed the lead character. Talk about kicking ass & taking names. Fun read.
