review 1: If I have several books waiting in the wings to be read, I prejudice myself. That was the case when I began to read this book and I found myself thinking it was just another fluffy story. Still it was amusing, so I kept on reading only to find that some interesting characters with human flaws put across some interesting ideas. How we can be our own worse enemies in limiting our happiness and how concepts of things get in the way of actually knowing something about them. At the end, I found I had thoroughly enjoyed this book and will have to look for "Big Love" now.

But when Amanda confides in Holly about a man she has been seeing on the side, Holly becomes snide. Amanda is married and have a beautiful little boy; why would she want to ruin it?Secrets to Happiness is filled with many eccentric characters against the backdrop of New York City. A compilation of stories and their journeys that frankly had my head spinning until about half-way through the novel. From page one I was captivated with their lives, and what their secrets were to happiness. A fresh and engaging read! less
