review 1: Sweet, darling book. I really like this author and all of the books I've read by her so far. Her books always have food or wine as the center of them and they are filled with fun, quirky characters. This particular book had a great main character, and I loved the way she gathered all her neighbors around her and helped them out in different ways. If I ever need a feel-good book, this is an author to read - every one of her books is just a joy to me - an automatic buy if I run across one of them.
review 2: I found this charming and delightful. It was everything I expected and more. Sugar Wallace is a beekeeper who moves every year and helps the people she meets along the way. Her move to Alphabet City in New York is no different. This time, however, the
... morepeople she helps rally around her to help her along with Queen Elizabeth the Sixth, the queen of her hive. I loved all the characters as well as the chapters that included the bees. Theo was the best with his steadfastness, determination and ineptitude. I loved the descriptions of Charleston-I felt was back there again. I could have read this in one long gulp but unfortunately mundane things like laundry and making dinner got in the way. And the kilt was just the icing on the cake. A lovely piece of fluff that put a smile on my face the whole time I read it. less
