review 1: It's funny, because the reason I started this series was to get to this book. The blurb drew me in, and I wanted to love it so, so much. Maybe my expectations were high, but I didn't enjoy this book as much as I hoped I would.Why not? I was freaking bored.The thing is, it's not a bad book. The characters are fleshed out, intriguing, good to together, and funny. The ingredients are all there, but it didn't really come together for me. In fact, it took me nine days to get through this book, which is weird for me. And it really was "getting through it", not "devouring" it, which pretty much sums up my feelings in a nutshell -. I liked it, but I wasn't in love with it. The main problem I had was how slow the pacing felt. The resistance both characters exhibit was extremely fru... morestrating, and waiting for them to get together, and get their act together, made it easy to stop this book for days at a time. Everything just felt slow and over explained at times. That said, readers get to know both Sean and Elise well, so that's good. And since there's history between them, their story doesn't feel unrealistic, which is great. Add in a good story, and it wad entertaining. I just wish the story had moved a little faster.Looking forward to Tyler's book.
review 2: I loved the family dynamics in this books. Sean and Elise know each other, had already had a one night stand, and are basically family. They had so much to risk in this relationship and each had a lot of other stuff they brought to the relationship and reasons why they did not want a relationship at first. This book was at times heart wrenching, funny, silly, steamy, and sweet. As much as it was the story of Sean and Elise, it was as much a story of homecoming and forgiveness between other characters. The book would not be the same without the family. less
