review 1: Don't you love it when you discover a new author that writes as if she totally "gets" you? I raced through "The Penny Pinchers Club" with ease because it's a funny yet dramatic look at marriage after the honeymoon ends. Actually, it's about marriage 20 years after the honeymoon. It's about a woman who shops for pleasure and her husband who is left to juggle the bills. Ultimately, it leads to a little deception on both of their parts--which makes for a great story.
review 2: So far, my least favorite novel by Sarah Strohmeyer. For some reason, I felt like this book was just on the EDGE of being really good, but it never quite got there. The characters beyond the protagonist were somewhat flat; the plot somewhat predictable, and the ending seemed rushed. The p
... moreremise was interesting- I was drawn to the idea of a support group for saving money, and I felt like that part of the book was way more interesting than the main plot line, and should have been more of the primary focus, rather than on Kat's marriage. Ah well- still a Strohmeyer fan, but this is not one I'd recommend/ is no Kindred Spirits. less
