review 1: Father;" You were destined to kill me". Billi: " You lied to me!!!!"What kind of stupid selfish teenager is SHE????? is that what comes to mind when you are told you are destined to kill your father, your only living family in the world???? I am sorry to say that I totally Hate the protagonist, I cannot believe that she spent 5 years doing Templar training to save the world and her personality sucks as much as a spoiled american teenager!!! this will be my last novel reading about teenage heroine.I didn't like that the novel focused on Billi's totally normal and annoying teen struggle more than missions, I felt it needed more action than drama.On the other hand, the plot was amazing and was totally unpredictable. I really respect that in a novel of this genre. I liked the ... moreending even though it was sad. Also, I kept thinking at the end "Oh my God, I have only few pages left and the battle wasn't settled at all!!!".
review 2: So we have Templars and demons and other fun creatures. Except this book was just 'eh.' I really just do not connect to the heroine. And I like her even less than that. If fact, I cannot think of a single character I cared about in this book. Which really made it hard to be concern when there was talk of plagues and prophecies. The book wasn't badly written or anything, but for me this disconnect with the characters did more harm than good. less
