review 1: Sean Doolittle understands that a great story requires great characters, and Lake Country is packed with memorable ones. His mastery of dialogue also helps propel a plot that would have been boring in lesser hands. The end is abrupt and a bit of a letdown after the roller-coaster that precedes it, but don't let that stop you from enjoying one of the best books from an author who continues to refine his craft.

Wasn't much of a crime-fiction reader until I finished this. Now I'm hooked.
