review 1: Breaking the Storm has a really good storyline and I was really looking forward to the book. I am always up for a good paranormal story. But…I felt that is just didn’t deliver for me. I had several issues with it. Stormy is part witch/fae/wolf and her family has believed for years that a curse will kill anyone that they love. So she walked away from Knox Gunner to save his life. It took her five years to finally get over him…or so she thought. She is now running her mother’s escort business. She now finds herself being forced to be an escort herself for Knox. Knox Gunner has always known that Stormy was his. As a shifter he knew she was his mate and finally has her where she belongs…under him. He forces her into being his escort in order for her to come back to h... moreim. Knox was nothing but a jerk…when he arraigned for her to work for him and called her a slut (repeatedly) I became completely turned off. I had to force myself to read the remainder of the story after this part. If he knew that she was his years ago…why didn’t he do anything then and why did he have to do it in such a degrading way?Stormy must be the most unintelligent paranormal around…how can she be part wolf/fae/witch and not know anything about Knox being a wolf? That is just absurd to me. Also the fact that she willing went along with his use of the word slut … I lost respect for her after that. While the author wraps up their relationship at the end to give the reader the HEA I really couldn’t justify how they got to their HEA.
review 2: After finishing this book I had mixed feelings. I liked the plot, with the paranormal idea, but I thought it lacked a lot. I didn't really feel like I got to know the characters and much of the background behind the shifters, witches and warlocks. I didn't care for Stormy's character, at all. I found her to be quite annoying and someone who really just couldn't make a decision.I did like the love story between Knox and Stormy, but I felt it could have developed more. And I really don't understand how the bdsm fit in. I think overall the author tried to stuff too much into the book and maybe should have focused on a few storylines instead of all that she did. less
