review 1: Sometimes a book is so convoluted, so impossibly tangled and confused with each unrelated storyline interesting enough alone to hold a promise that at its end it will make sense , its author will prove genius and utterly brilliant for deftly weaving all together. This is not that book. I want my three days back. The only reason this story got published was the authors past success. Were it not for that, I'd have to take it as a sign that *I* should write a manuscript.
review 2: I was given this book in a goodie-bag from a bookstore and now I know why. What a mess! After struggling through the first quarter, I came to Goodreads to read a few reviews in order to figure out what it was supposed to be about, other than the author trying to impress me. She did. I've... more never seen anyone work so hard to avoid a cliche, or to give me the most minute and insignificant details of a scene. But I quit. This book is not for me and remains unrated by me because I did not finish it. She might be a great author, but I remain baffled. less
