review 1: I've read it for a challenge and was really dissapointed. The adventure was probably the best part of the book but really not that great since the challenges were not exactly that complicated. As to the whole mate idea, and you have to know that I like mates usually, but not this instant lust/love. The relationship and the plot failled to engage me since the character's were rather flat. It was not badly written so the two stars and for the idea of the plot, which could have been done better.
review 2: Wow! I just could not put “The Magic Thieves” down once I started reading. Elryk Muyd‘omir, a wizard, has fled to Earth from the planet of Tah‘Nut, which is ruled by the cruel and oppressive Xoh‘kas family. Tah‘Nutian Law Forces Commander, Kaythan Vs
... moreurr, has been sent to Earth to hunt the wizard down, but things do not go as either of them would have predicted. The two men form a “mate bond” and begin a quest to bring down the Xoh‘kas family. What follows is classic fantasy mixed a sexy romance as Elryk and Kaythan have to overcome their own fears as well as fight the evil forces that would stop them. It is just brilliant. I really love Serena Yates’ stories, but this is even better than I’d expected. Highly recommended. less
