review 1: 'Wannabe's, Gonnabe's, and Son of B's...which are you gonna believe...' Whyte is a bawss ready to exit the game, while finding himself surrounded by 'wannabe's', 'gonnabe's', and a few son of b's'. His dream consists of exiting 'the game' without using two doors...door #1 - jail, door #2 - death. He has a dime piece on his arm and he's gunning for legitimacy with his illegal funds, while he and his wife, Chrissy continue living the lifestyle of the rich and famous. He's groomed his team and adorned their pockets and plates but...what happens when Judas wants his coins in lieu of loyalty? What about that weight that has no value, doing none of the work but wanting all of the glory? Will a woman stay in the game and leave her emotions at the back door, when she's truly fed u... morep? The ladies play the background but their beauty is not as valuable as their street smarts, loyalty and dedication.I really enjoyed this read but an inconclusive ending with open plots massacred a masterpiece. This was a very visual read with engaging characters, even the villains worked their roles to perfection. Character consistency was on point! The author did an excellent job developing characters and scenes, she utilized the scenes effectively, execution was good. CONS: The beginning never connected anywhere within the 111 pages. Tedious misspelling,(pass for past, bought for brought), lack of scene separation proved to be confusing to storyline. A full and complete story with proper editing would have ensured a 'classic' status. Highly recommended. 4.68****
review 2: From the author that brought us "What Da Lick Read: The Triple Cross", Sevyn McCray is back. "The Real Block Wives of Atlanta" focuses on five women who will stop at nothing to protect the men they love. I was so excited after finding out Author Sevyn had a new release coming. I must say I was not disapppointed. There was drama, action, and suspense...and did I mention drama?!The story moved at a fast pace. There were some times I had to go back to remember which character was with who. All-in-all, "The Real Block Wives of Atlanta" was a great read and I can't wait for part 2! ~New Beginnings Book Club~ less
