review 1: Natalie is graduating high school and entering the world holding the hand of the boy she loves, or so she thinks. Her entire demeanor is crushed within ten minutes of entering a homecoming party. Natalie makes necessary decisions and moves to mend her life and ends up getting help from an unlikely candidate. The problems seem to multiply as her parents add to her Disappointment. Natalie discovers that we are all alike in love and pain and begins to accept her past and present. My favorite thing about this story is that we all know these characters. Everyone has a Bryson, Harper, Mark, and hopefully a Nolan in their life. This book not only entertains and satisfies readers hunger but leaves us with life lessons and a sense of contentment. Shanora knows how to tell a sto... morery and tells it well. I'm a huge fan and believe everyone who reads her books is instantly an addict. Keep writing, Shanora, we need you!
review 2: I sense a pattern in the author's writing. Girl heart is broken. Girl meets Hot Guy who tells her that he'll heal her. Girl resists. Hot Guy kisses and makes out with her till her willpower crumbles. Panties fall away. They live happily ever after. Then a twist emerges. Continues into next book.Reader goes AAARGH!!!I loved the characters in this book - Nat and Nolan. They're really into one another but I wish the author had taken us deeper into their psyche cos sometimes I have absolutely no idea why they do the things they do and even then they seem to be behaving in contradiction to what I think they're character would do.I'm dying to know what happens to Nat and Nolan in the sequel...but worry that it'll be predictable. less
