review 1: The Notorious Lady Anne by Sharon Cullen is a piratical dream. Cullen gives readers an exciting and superb love story that spans over the oceans. This historical gives readers all the elements we crave as we set sail into this tale. Lady Anne is fantastic, she exudes daring, passion, and intrigue as she commands both ship and man. Nicholas gives this story a quality of authenticity, this wounded hero will take a firm hold on readers as he sets to win Lady Anne. I highly recommend this book, a wonderful pirate love story.
review 2: When Captain Nicholas Addison is offered the command of a ship to find out what has been happening to the Blackwell Shipping Company’s ships, he’s told of the rumor of a pirate named Lady Anne being responsible. Little does
... more he know that this rumor he’s scoffed at is true and once he meets the lady pirate, his whole life will change. Emmaline Blackwell has spent the last eleven years as the notorious Lady Anne, trying to take down the father who left her and her mother and refused to acknowledge her when she sought him out. She doesn’t try to think any further than the completion of her mission of revenge. Once she meets Nicholas, she begins to contemplate the possibility of a future with him in it. I’ve always enjoyed stories of pirates and a lady pirate tale was irresistible. I was really hoping for a way for Nicholas and Emmaline to get past her pirate background, but didn’t see how that was possible. I loved the way the author came up with a resolution that was believable as well as satisfying. I’d be interested to see what happens with the rest of the characters in the future, including Emmaline’s pirate friend Phin, Nicholas’ brother Sebastian and his sister Claire. If you like swashbuckling adventure and romance between two strong personalities, you'll enjoy this book. less
