review 1: Beautiful in its simplicity. Seriously moving. The writing isn't overdone and, in fact, often the narration feels quite detatched but that's not a bad thing: It really works. The seemingly irrelevant things he thinks about and observes around him made him real, made me care about him. I love how David's character grew and the fact his growth wasn't something I was straight out told was happening but was, rather, made evident in his thoughts and actions throughout (the whole show, not tell thing in action brilliantly). There were many little things throughout that had me tearing up, but then so much of David reminds me of my own 14yr old son- very hard not to think the unthinkable. And, having been worried about the end right through, I needn't have. I loved it. Bitter swee... moret perfection.
review 2: this is the saddest most pointless book i have ever read. nothing is accomplished none of the characters have a happy ending or anything remotely positive happen to them. i do not reccomend this book at all. it is 2 hours of my life that i will never get back and i am completely depressed by the entire thing. the only reason i am bothering with a review is because i shared the fact that i was reading it and i dont want to waste anyone i like and knows time on this complete waste less
