review 1: Strong boy appeal, reluctant-reader friendly. Really makes you understand that for some young people, prison would in some ways be a welcome relief from abuse and neglect at home, and still many children are in grave danger while incarcerated. The caring guards and teachers are a positive note in contrast with the abusive guards, parents, and peers. Overall, great quick read that could be eye-opening and worthy of discussion.
review 2: I enjoyed this book because you really learn what true brotherhood and friendship is. James, the main character, is helping his brother with earning money by helping him sell drugs. He gets caught and is sent to Juvenile , but the real meaning is the relationship between James and his brother that is heartbreaking. James loves
... more and cares for his brother but his brother doesn't seem to care. As he spends time in jail, James start to wonder about life and starts to worry. At the end of the book though, James realizes that there such a thing as a second chance. He knows he must look at the mistake as a lesson. Just this one action his brother gave him, was a life lesson that James will keep forever. less

I really love this book. It shows the changes he has been through in jail.
