review 1: This is a sweet story about how a city girl named Calista meets a country boy named Will in rural Maine all because she hit a deer. Not only does she miss the wedding she was on her way to, but her car is out of commission and she is stuck in this small town for a week while she waits for her car to be fixed. And of course, she meets and falls for Will, who is the game warden. This book was completely sweet and romantic. 3.5 Stars
review 2: I really enjoyed this book it was a great way to spend the afternoon.SynopsesCity girl Calista Coffman can’t believe her misfortune when she hits a deer in rural Maine on the way to a friend’s wedding. At least there’s the super sexy game warden that came to her aid on the side of the road to keep her entertained.Will Holbrook’s given up on love after suffering a terrible loss in his past. But he can’t deny his attraction to the independent beauty that ends up stuck in his town, even if she's a ‘flatlander’. It’s supposed to be just casual, no strings attached, but even the best laid plans can fail…What I thoughtWhile I didn’t like Calista at first, in fact I rather hated her for a bit there. Her attitude sucked and I hated that she thought she was better than everyone just because she was from the big city and had all her teeth. But I think that was necessary for her to grow in the long run, and boy does she grow. She becomes someone I could see myself being friends with.I liked Will from the outset, he was big and tough and manly and just what I like in a hero. He was into the outdoors and had a rugged quality to him. The writing was well done and I enjoyed Shayna Ryan’s style. The descriptions were awesome and in-depth, I could see, it feel it, smell it and I wanted to be there. I thought the way everyone interacted was well done and real, the dialogue was believable and so were the thoughts and feeling behind everything. The secondary characters were well written too, and I loved the small town vibe. Like I said this was a cute little read. There was no real big conflict going on, if you are looking for something light ,fluffy and a little bit sexy to fill in between heavier books this is the way to go. I will definitely be reading more from this author. less
