review 1: We always hear don't judge a book by it's cover...but in this case, don't judge a book by its first chapter. I thought after the first chapter I was getting into a book that was too racy for my taste... I didn't even know what "erotic landscapes" were from reading the blurb... once I found out, I thought, "Oh my!" You find in the first chapter that Max is a butt-hole who wants to test his girlfriend (Sydney) to see if she will cheat so he hires a male prostitute (Colm) to pose as a model (for her erotic paintings) challenges him to see if he can seduce her during the 2 weeks working together. He even leaves town to make it easier. That whole idea was sick and twisted to me. (Cannot STAND Max!) So that's the first chapter or so.... The basic plot. What came after... more that really surprised me because it actually had good character development (talk about two damaged people) and once you understand Colm better and what he's been through, you find that you actually like him and you really feel for Sydney. This book is labeled as "erotic" - but it's NOT a bunch of sex scenes with a little story thrown in here and there. It's actually a really good story with just a couple of meaningful sex scene and one scene that is a LITTLE shocking - but you understand why it happens. It's hard for me to say if it's 4 or 5 stars, but since I stayed up til 2am to finish, I went with 5. It's probably 4.5 for me. I definitely want to check out others by this author since it was so well written.

When max hires Colm to model for her Sydney is tempted like she has never been tempted before. Colm understands Sydney in a way no one else has and she is drawn to him no matter how hard she tries to stay away. Colm Hennessy knows that Sydney Warren is different from the moment he meets her. The more time he spends with her the more he must have her but Colm has a secret. Sydney’s boyfriend max wants to test her fidelity and hires Colm to seduce her with a bonus if he can get her in his bed in two weeks. Colm hasn’t wanted a woman in a long time and to him sex is just a job now but with Sydney he craves her and he might lose everything to have her. I hesitated to read Games People Play mostly because I have cheating in my romance novels but decided to give it a try. Sadly my biggest problem wasn’t infidelity in this book but the three main characters Sydney. Colm and Max. These are three of the most broken and emotionally messed up people I’ve read about in a really long time. Max maybe one of the most vile, sick characters ever and he made my skin crawl every time he was in a scene. The fact that Sydney stayed with him for so long especially since he treated her like garbage made me lose a lot of respect for her. Sydney and Colm both have major issues and need to stop mind fucking each other and get some major therapy. The games that are played between these three are mostly mental and there isn’t a lot of sex until the very end of the book. By this time I was so over both Sydney, Max and Colm that I didn't care want any of them did with anyone. I wanted Sydney and Clom to grow a pair and stand up for themselves for one. There were way too many pity parties going on. The beginning of the book is actually good and kept me on my toes but as it progressed I found it extremely predictable. There were no major surprises and everything that you thought would happen did like being checked off a list. I found myself wanting to DNF this book at points but for some unknown reason I finished it which is why I gave it a C-. less
