review 1: A new mystery author to me, courtesy of Amazon discounted books. Such a deal! Humorous dialogue. I honestly didn't guess "who-dun-it" till almost the end. In fact, I was pretty sure I knew & it turned out I was wrong. Not as fast paced as I usually like. The courtroom scenes kind of dragged on. but the writing was crisp, the characters fun - even the bad guys. Recommended if you like courtroom/lawyer drama.
review 2: A former partner of a large San Francisco law firm defends a former co-worker who has been charged with two counts of murder. While this book did a great job of presenting a realistic view of a murder trial, I was waiting for a bit more depth. For example, a relationship between the lawyer and his ex-wife seemed too perfect and the actions of a f... moreew key witnesses were only slightly discussed. My thinking is that the book was 100 pages longer but the publisher cut out sections not relevant to the case as a whole. less
