review 1: This book is completely engaging - I couldn't put it down. However, I did find the main character a bit problematic. Namely, the dialog and thought processes at the beginning of the book made me think the character had a lower I.q than normal, but as the book progresses, I found that wasn't the case at all. Still, Kenny is an original character and I love her (him?). There were also some parts (early relationship with Daphne) that I found unnecessarily squeamish, but overall the book was so engaging I have to rate it 4 stars. I couldn't put it down, and can't wait to read more of the author's work.
review 2: Not my favorite Sheri Reynolds book, but it's still fantastic. Not a neat and tidy novel in a pretty little package. Instead, it's ugly and messy and a q... moreuick photograph of someone finding hope amongst all the rubble of life - starting to get her shit together in life. My very favorite author in the world wrote one book. My second favorite has only written four. Life is not fair (as Reyolds demonsrates without question in every one of the four)... less
