review 1: Again, very sweet and heart-warming, so no bumping-n-grinding. The third Inspy I've ever read (also a historical - and I'm finding that I like those best) and so beautifully descriptive. Hero helps heroine (who happens to be going into labor!) on the Kansas homestead/wilderness. This was an emotional couple, and the hero was very protective, but he wasn't a jerk. My favorite scene is when the heroine walks miles in search of a doctor right before the big snow storm hits and he finds her and saves her - their exchange back and forth was a great way of SHOWING their bond instead of just telling us.
review 2: This is one of those books that proves that (with me) if an author can make me care about the characters, I'll follow them anywhere, no matter the genre. I
... more don't read inspirationals or westerns often (not sure why - they just get pushed down the list by other things, I guess) but I devoured this one. Sherri really made me care about Elizabeth and Jack (and Rachel and Jo, and even the McCoy boys). I'd love to see more of these characters - hopefully Jo will get her own story, and maybe even Rachel (all grown up, of course). Loved this one. less
