review 1: You ever get that feeling you have already read a book before or something very similair to it before? If you got that feeling while reading this book is because this will be the 4th time you have read this same story with different characters lol. ITs still enjoyable but it is beyond predictable at this point. Hopefully the next book isnt an rinse and repeat story of guy with terrible past and a bad childhood meets female who can save him from all his troubles and worries but he has to learn to trust her before he lets her in because of his terrible experience with women betraying him in the past part 5.
review 2: Mad props to the heroine in this story! And did like the political intrigue as well. However, I just didn't feel the connection between the Hero and
... more Heroine at all. Could be mostly that the Hero wasn't really a fave character of mine to begin with. So didn't really matter if he got hitched or not. And although the heroine was for once not working with the Census Bureau so to speak(inside joke on that), and I admired her capable skill of handling herself with things. I think given her culture's conditioning in regards to how she should express her feelings. Left it rather tricky at times for me to connect with her at first. Because even when the escape pod she and the hero was in, began crash landing on a planet she knew nothing about. She didn't seem to have enough of a reaction to me, to read like she was actually experiencing the moment. I get, she didn't want to freak out as that wouldn't have helped anything and she didn't want to distract the hero who was doing his damndest to try and give them as soft a landing as possible. But dude soon as I realize something I'm flying in, is being ripped apart and going to crash land, you best believe I'm going to be hollering my head off. Might even need to be slapped to get it together again. Not just sit there like I'm going suppress my reaction for someone else. Sorry I'm just not that considerate. less
