review 1: I really enjoyed this book, Sophie was strong, kind and interesting. I love her character and she was by far my favorite part of the story. I am not sure how close the author wrote Sophie to Catherine The Great, after looking some things up it seems spot on to how her personality truly was at that age. I felt so many emotions when reading and I am super excited for the second in the series. I am just sad I have to wait a year to read it. I also adore the cover it is gorgeous, one of my favorites.
review 2: I want to give a thanks to Clean Teen Publishing and NetGalley for letting me read this book on a read to review basis. I'm going to start of by saying I liked the book I honestly loved the book. The reason I rated it a three stars instead of a four or five i... mores because of the insta love and the main character. It kinda had the feeling of the Selection which isn't good but isn't different. Lets start with the insta love. Holy insta love I don't really like insta love at all. It kind of gets annoying to me after awhile. And so many young adult books have insta love. First off in the real world that isn't never going to happen. Second off I'm tired of it. Third off why can't they make a book that has a displays real love. Princess Sophie was a good character. She was one of those characters that you have a love hate relationship with. That you scream at all the time for making the same mistakes over and over again. By the of the book I got tired of her. Other than that the story line was full of action and it kept going. It was like a tv show filled with drama. I want to say I love that cover I mean thats the first reason why I wanted to read other than the fact the story sounded amazing. I can't wait for book 2 come out. I will be sitting and waiting for the next book to come out. I have high hopes for the whole series and I totally hope that Sophie gets Peter. And I love how the author has so much to work with in the world. Loved it I'm speechless can't wait till the next book. less
