review 1: I agree with others reviews who said they thought this book would be more about renovating/remodeling homes or a room in a home. It is DIY ideas of different projects for your home like re-doing a cheap mirror, stenciling walls, the use of wallpaper on ceilings, wrapping paper on the back of bookshelves, etc. Really cute ideas, some of which I'll have to try.I haven't heard of the 'Young House Love' blog, and will definitely be checking it out!I think anyone who enjoys DIY projects for their home will certainly take ideas away from this book.
review 2: I'm an avid Young House Love blog follower and this book didn't disappoint. The project ideas are helpful in getting the creative juices flowing on budget updates that make a big difference in personalizing a s... morepace. While they may not all be my style, they include some lasting advice on how to create more balance and layers for house tweaking. Beyond the individual projects, though, I really enjoyed the chapter breakdowns that begin with stories and advice from John and Sherry. Their quirky and adorable sense of humor is apparent in each of these sections. Probably my favorite story of all was how John apologized for accidentally breaking Sherry's beloved ceramic dog. In the end, I'm excited for how this book turned out and happy to have finally gotten my hands on a copy for Christmas. It will definitely be one I turn to when I'm looking to house tweak or get my hands dirty with a larger house project. less
